We are committed to the Bible as the inspired Word of God from which Christians learn about God’s truths and experience God’s love in Jesus Christ. Upholding the protestant conviction of SOLA SCRIPTURA (“THE BIBLE ONLY”), these fundamental beliefs describes how Seventh-Day Adventist interpret scripture for daily application.

THE TEARS OF GOD

“Jesus Wept” – John 11:13

When Jesus wept at Lazarus’ tomb, He knew He would raise him moments later. Yet He still allowed Himself to fully enter the grief of the moment. Why? Because love mourns with those who mourn. Jesus’ tears weren’t a sign of weakness, but of His deep compassion and solidarity with human suffering.
This simple, two-word verse carries profound depth. In the midst of sorrow, confusion, and loss, we find Jesus not distant or detached, but deeply present. He doesn’t just observe pain—He feels it.

This verse reminds us that:
> God is not indifferent to our pain. He sees, He feels, and He walks with us through it.
> Tears are not a lack of faith. Even Jesus, the Son of God, wept openly.
> Comfort comes not always from answers, but from presence. Jesus’ presence with Mary, Martha, and the crowd brought a kind of comfort that went beyond words.

SHARE YOUR FAITH:
If you’re in a season of grief or uncertainty, know this: Jesus weeps with you. He is Emmanuel—God with us—in joy, in sorrow, and in everything in between.

LET US PRAY!
Lord, thank You that You are not far off from our pain. Thank You for the reminder that You are moved by our tears and that You draw near to the brokenhearted. Help us to find comfort not just in what You can do, but in who You are.
Amen.
